An order-to-production handoff is the process of turning a confirmed customer order into clear instructions that a production or packing team can act on, without manual re-entry between systems.

Food manufacturers and central kitchens often receive orders through WhatsApp messages, emails, PDFs, and Excel files. Before production can start, someone has to read each order, copy the product, quantity, pack size, delivery date, and customer instructions into an order sheet, and check that nothing is missing.

An automated order-to-production handoff captures these orders in one intake, extracts the details, and checks them against order rules. Missing or unusual details are flagged, and the order waits for human approval. Once approved, the order sheet or existing system is updated and a production or packing summary is prepared, along with the customer confirmation.
