Agentic AI

Agentic AI refers to artificial intelligence systems that can autonomously perceive their environment, reason about goals, and take actions to achieve them without constant human supervision.

Unlike traditional generative AI (like standard ChatGPT), which simply waits for a prompt and generates text, Agentic AI operates with a sense of agency. It utilizes a cognitive architecture often described as the OODA Loop (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act). When given a high-level goal - such as 'Plan a marketing campaign for next week' - an agent doesn't just write a plan; it can actively browse the web to research trends, access your CRM to analyze past customer data, and even draft emails in your draft folder. It breaks down complex objectives into sub-tasks and executes them sequentially or in parallel.

The business value of Agentic AI lies in its ability to close the loop on productivity. While Copilots assist humans, Agents can replace entire workflows. They are capable of error correction, self-reflection, and tool use (calling APIs, querying databases). This shift from 'Chatbot' to 'Agent' represents the next major evolution in enterprise automation, moving from information retrieval to actual work execution.
